The Mexico U20 team, led by head coach Luis Leon, has been working very hard to prepare for the U20 World Championships in Puerto Rico. Representing their country is one of the most satisfactory experiences in the career of the players, are very much aware of the responsibility on their shoulders, as they represent an entire nation.
The team is leaded by captain Maria Fernanda Rodriguez who was named Best Spiker at the 2015 U20 Pan American Cup 2015 in the Dominican Republic. She was also part of the senior National Team at the 2015 XIV Pan American Cup in Peru and the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix
This team also counts on its middle blocker Lourdes Montserrat Castro. At 18 years old and with a hight of 1.98m she was recently admitted at the Texas A&M University.
Mexico have appeared in eight previous editions of the U20 World Championships -their best ever performance a fourth place in 1981.
