“We want to be in the final" assures Peruvian captain Leyva

Juncos, Puerto Rico, September 13, 2015 - After a strong match and a great performance by both teams, Peru took the win over Mexico and Angela Leyva says her team needs to keep their A-game in order to go to the final.

Luis León López, Mexico coach: “I feel more at ease because the girls showed more confidence and a better attitude today. Not satisfied, but a little more confident for the next games. We knew Peru would be a hard opponent after winning against China and Serbia; we could have done better but I’m satisfied now.”

Angela Leyva, Peru captain: “I think what we missed today was the spirit. Our first two games we gave our hundred percent but today we missed something. We need to keep playing. It feels great to have such a crowd, it looks as if we are at home and it’s beautiful. We want to be in the final; we have worked hard from a long time and the results are showing.”
