Robinson: “Getting experience was important”

Cuba finished in 13th place after victory over Puerto Rico

Gurabo, Puerto Rico, September 19, 2015 – Cuba finished in 13th place but coach Wilfredo Robinson was really satisfied with the attitude of his team and the experience gained during the world championship.

Wilfredo Robinson, coach of Cuba: We achieved our goal of getting experience in the tournament. It was a triumph for us from every point of view. There is a lot of work to do but this is a group with potential. We are sending a good message to international volleyball: Cuba is growing up.

Xiomara Molero, coach of Puerto Rico: The positive thing about this tournament is that the team played hard all the time. Every day the girls went out to give their best. We won the fourth set but couldn’t close the third set. It was a great tournament and a good experience.
