Caguas, Puerto Rico, September 13, 2015 - Italy achieved Pool C first place thanks to a very spirited game against Japan, in which passion and heart were very important, according to captain Sofia D’Odorico.
Sofia D’Odorico, Italy captain: “Our team played with strong passion; we never lowered the rhythm after losing the first set. Today we are going to celebrate the victory, tomorrow we will begin to plan for the upcoming opponents.”
Luca Cristofani, Italy coach: “We’re happy not only with the result, but also because the team achieved their first goal. Today we had a slow start in the first set, but luckily after that our level went up. We presented power in blocking and attacking to control the quick Japanese game. Now we must concentrate on the next round.”
