Maunabo, Puerto Rico, September 18, 2015 – All the thrill and emotion piled up during the match against Italy started flowing when the game ended, as the Dominican Republic moved forward to the gold medal match. Coach Wagner Pacheco from Brazil stressed all the work of his side to make it this far.
Brayelin Martinez, Dominican Republic captain: “We made the impossible to get into the finals. It was a very demanding game, but we made through and we cannot be happier.”
Wagner Pacheco, Dominican Republic coach: “This victory means so much for us. We accomplished this after many sacrifices and hard work in our country. We played with our hearts as this was a tremendously difficult game.”
Luca Cristofani, Italy coach: “I'm in peace with the game we played. We just lacked some organisation compared to the games before, that were better. But it's normal, as none of the girls of this age group had played a semifinal before. We showed our desire, our strength and spirit, but only one team can win and it was Dominican Republic.”
