Juncos, Puerto Rico, September 19,2015 - With a fifth place assured for the Serbian team, Coach Marijana Boricic feels that her players enjoyed this match and played a good volleyball in their win over Peru. Player Sara Lozo said she wanted to win this match and place in the tournament to get back at Peru for winning over them in Thailand two years ago for the semifinals.
Marijana Boricic, Serbia Coach: “When we prepared this game we knew what was their tactic, nothing has changed from the first match with them. The only change was that we spoke with the girls and we explained it was important to win this place. They trained all summer so we tried to play good volleyball and to enjoy the game today. I think they played without pressure and today they enjoyed the game.”
Maja Aleksic, Serbia player: “I want to congratulate our team for the fifth place. I’m very happy because we lost the first match against Peru but we won today for the fifth place. The hardest match was against Brazil because we lost our ticket to the semifinal.”
Sara Lozo, Serbia player: “I feel very good because the attacks could have been better so far and today they were. This game against Peru was important because they won over us two years ago in Thailand for the semifinal and I wanted to win over them.”
Bojana Milenkovic, Serbia player: “I was feeling tired but it felt good that my team believed in me. When we are tired, we must give our best and stand together in the court. We came here for a medal but it didn’t happen yet I’m enjoying the experience.”
