Peru maintain their winning streak after win over Mexico

Juncos, Puerto Rico, September 13, 2015 – Peru showed once again their great defence and strong attacks in their win over Mexico on Sunday. The Peruvian players took the match 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-23) over an improved Mexican version.

Maguilaura Frias led the scores for the Peruvian team with 14 points while Maria Fernanda Rodriguez nailed 12 points for losing side of Mexico.

The first set of the match was an easy win for Peru as they took advantage of a weaker Mexican defense 25-14. The second set was more difficult for Peru because the Mexican team showed better levels, yet it was not enough for Mexico and the South American won the second set 25-22 in a much tied play.

As for the third set, both teams showed weaknesses and it was an open field for Peru to take over the first points. Mexico then showed a much stronger attack and fought for the win, but to no avail as Peru won the set 25-23 and took the match 3-0 to maintain their momentum in Puerto Rico.
