Paskova leads Bulgaria to success over Cuba in four chapters

 

Maunabo, Puerto Rico, September 12, 2015 – Bulgaria overcame a more confident Cuban team 3-1 (25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 25-16) at their second game at FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship Pool A held in Maunabo. The Bulgarian team unity was their key for success in a complicated match against Cuba.

Even though the Cuban squad came stronger for this match up the Bulgarian powerhouse showed more aggressive in their offensive. In this first rally, Jessica Aguiler served and Miroslava Paskova spiked it, granting Bulgaria a point. This play was a preview of many failures in receives and faults committed by Cuba even though they dominated the second period.

Nevertheless, Kitania Medina nailed 16 points, spared in 12 attacks, 2 blocks and 1 service becoming the top scorer of her team while Bulgarian Miroslava Paskova made 18 points, being 15 attacks, 1 block and 2 services. In the fourth rally Cuba tried to recover with an outstanding kill made by Kitania Medina but the strong Bulgaria nailed this match.
