Good scouting helps Serbia’s win over Russia

Serbian players celebrate their good start in the second phase

Gurabo, Puerto Rico, September 15, 2015 – Serbia overcame Russia in four sets for a good start in the second phase of the tournament with coach Marijana Boricic giving credit for the victory to a good scouting of their opponents.

Marijana Boricic, coach of Serbia: We are glad about starting this second phase with a victory. We played two preparation matches against Russia for this world championship and each team won a match. We were very confident going into the match and did a good scouting. We had some difficulties in the first set but were able to react. Our serves were very good today.

Bojana Milenkovic, player of Serbia: We were very positive since the first moment and followed the instructions of our coach. We played consistently and with a lot of concentration from start to finish.

Petr Kobrin, coach of Russia: We made a lot of mistakes and our consistency was really bad. We never reached the level of quality that we have.

Angelina Sperskaite, captain of Russia: After the first set we lost the concentration and our mistakes took us to the loss.
