Gurabo, Puerto Rico, September 11, 2015 – Brazil relied on good reception and effective counter attacks to score a straight-set victory over Czech Republic on Friday.

Mauricio Thomas, coach of Brazil: First match is always difficult and our pool is pretty even. We tried to minimize the mistakes, which is crucial to move to the next phase. We improved with the match. The first and second sets were not so good but we really played well in the third set.

Lorenne Geraldo, player of Brazil: We created a great defensive position to put effective counter attacks. Our attacks led us to the victory.

Ales Novak, coach of Czech Republic: Brazil played very good volleyball and they are a better team. If we want to succeed we need to be more aggressive and follow the tactics.

Tiziana Baumrukova, captain of Czech Republic: Brazil really played good volleyball and we made a lot of mistakes. The Brazilians also had very good reception and their setter did a good job.
