Convincing display enables easy win for Turkey over Czech Republic

Caguas, Puerto Rico, September 18, 2015 - Searching for the ninth place of the tournament, Turkey pulled out a rock-solid display to subdue Czech Republic 3-0 (25-9, 25-19, 25-13) and the winning side will have another clash against China - repeating a second round duel, but this time for their final position in Puerto Rico.

Turkey’s Humay Topaloglu unleashed 15 points as the only player on the entire match with double digits, while teammate Rida Erlalelitepe tracked her with 9 of her own. The two best players of Czech Republic couldn’t reach Topaloglu’s number not even combined - Lucie Nova and Lucie Kalhousova charted 7 and 6 points respectively.

Topaloglu also achieved a stunning 7-point mark from the service line, boosting Turkey to a total of 13 aces. Though it was the main difference between the two teams, Turkey also outlasted the Czech side in blocks (9-3) and spikes (33-19).

This way, Turkey and China will meet again after the 3-1 win from Turkey at the end of the second round, played a couple of days ago in Caguas.
